Glossary

T-01 … T-67
Your callsign. The T stands for Truck, or Taxi when you’re driving a taxi: “Taxi 30, show me 10-8.” Don’t change your nickname to taxi.
RTO
The in-game radio channel for Public Services. Only for 10-codes and information civilians need. No side chat. Trainees never join it, except when riding along with a DOT member.
10-8
Going in service. Always say what you’re online as: “Show me 10-8, online as a taxi vehicle.”
10-51
Someone requesting a tow. That’s your call as DOT.
Ride-along (R/A)
Riding with another member to learn or be evaluated. Trainees ride along until they’re trained; after the tow exam, a 30-minute ride-along with a Supervisor decides if you’re ready to operate alone.
Amber lights
Your yellow lights. Only on at a scene or with a vehicle on your back, never while responding or patrolling. They don’t let you speed.
Flatbed
A tow truck with a flat bed, or a flatbed trailer behind a pickup. Both count toward the 3 tow slots per session.
Tires+
The roadside tire service vehicle. Only 1 per session.
Session
One GVRPJ roleplay server run by a host. Tell the host when you set up construction.
P/S
Public Services: DOT and the Fire Department.
DOT bill
A bill you issue a civilian for a tow or ride. Unpaid bills lead to a citation and impound. Always tell them what they’re being billed for.
Vehicle structure
Which vehicles, trailers and colours your rank and certifications let you use. See What Can I Drive.
Quota
The hours (and for Supervisors, exams and ride-alongs) you must log every month to stay active.
Strike
A warning on your DOT record. 3rd strike is a suspension; a strike after that is a termination.
LOA
Leave of absence, up to 31 days. Request it in #loa-request.
SOTM
Supervisor of the Month: a monthly award for the best Supervisor.
One Above All
The member with the most hours in a month (DOT of the Month).
Free Weekend
Log 2 hours in a month and you can use vehicles up to DOT Supervisor and an approved custom uniform, Friday to Sunday.
